We declared a climate emergency in July 2019.
Our climate change action plan was adopted in May 2021 and sets out how we plan to:
- meet net zero for our own services and buildings (like our waste collections and community centres) by 2030
- meet net zero for all activities that support our work (like zero carbon fittings for new retail units) by 2050
- support climate resilience across our services, public buildings and infrastructure
It also covers how we'll lead the district in reducing its own emissions.
