The licence will specify the maximum number of people who can live in the HMO. It will also include various conditions. The following conditions will apply to all licences:
Licence holders will be required to provide an up to date gas safety certificate which must be reviewed annually must be provided.
Licence holders will be required to provide proof that all electrical appliances and furniture made available to the tenants are kept in a safe condition.
Occupiers must be provided with a written statement of the terms on which they occupy the home, for example, a tenancy agreement.
The council may impose additional requirements to individual licenses.
