Frequently asked questions

If I write to Canterbury City Council and my case is unsuccessful, can I appeal further?

Yes. If the Council does not accept your case and you wish to appeal further, you may do so (we will send a Notice to Owner (NtO) to the registered keeper of the vehicle 28 days after the date of the PCN). This will give you the opportunity to make a formal representation to the council on the form provided.

If the formal representation is also unsuccessful, a Notice of Rejection of Representations will be sent to the registered keeper. This letter will explain how an appeal can be made to the Traffic Penalty Tribunal  for an independent review of the case.

Please note that for legal reasons it is not possible to appeal to TPT until after the council has issued a Notice of Rejection of Representations?.
