If you lose your appeal to NPAS you must pay the PCN. If you refuse, the amount of the PCN will increase to £90 and a Charge Certificate is issued. If payment of £90 is not received within 14 days, the case is registered as a debt at the county court.
A registration fee of ?£ is then added to the debt making the total amount outstanding £95. This is the last stage at which you can make payment to Canterbury City Council. If payment of £95 is not made within 21 days, the matter is passed to a bailiff company for collection of the outstanding debt. The bailiff company will then add their own charges. These can add considerably to the amount payable.
