The licence will specify the maximum number of people who can live in the HMO. It will also include various conditions. The following conditions will apply to all licences:
- Licence holders will be required to provide an up to date gas safety certificate which must be reviewed annually must be provided.
- Licence holders will be required to provide proof that all electrical appliances and furniture made available to the tenants are kept in a safe condition.
- Occupiers must be provided with a written statement of the terms on which they occupy the home, for example, a tenancy agreement.
The council may impose additional requirements to individual licenses.
