East Kent Local Authority Arts Partnership
About EKLAAP
EKLAAP work to support and develop an arts infrastructure for East Kent, to realise growth in the Arts in East Kent, where there is benefit and added value achieved by joint working.
The group meet regularly and welcome approaches from organisations who can help deliver their strategic objectives.
Objectives for 2006/7 are:
- To initiate a minimum of one cross-district networking event with a specific purpose by March 2007
- To appoint a Performing Arts coordinator to establish a networking infrastructure for the sector
- To appoint a Literature coordinator to develop activities that will provide a support infrastructure for literary development
- To support inspirational projects that will create a sustainable benefit for the East Kent community through the arts
- To record what our actions have achieved against our primary aims and the value of the activities we have commissioned
- To share local and regional knowledge to shape potential projects, allowing time for research and development to ensure they are appropriate for future support
In 2005/6 EKLAAP supported the work of a number of local organisations and initiatives including:
- Little Prince education project by Animate
- Culture-Net - a website focusing on arts information.
- Decommissioning strategy for public art
- Visualize the Future - mentoring days and conference
