Performance management
2010/11 Annual Report
How is the council performing?
The council must report annually on how it is performing against the National Performance Indicators (these are a set national priority outcomes for local authorities working alone or in partnership).
We also report on a set of local measures (called local performance indicators) that are important to local people.
Overall the council has performed fairly well.
The council's Annual Report will be published shortly which will provide details on how we intend to improve services, our achievements in 2009/10 and some of the plans for the future.
2009/10 Annual Report and Best Value Performance Plan
This plan gives a broad picture of the council's performance over 2008/09.
The BVPP reports on the work we are doing with our partners to improve services for local people, our priorities for the future and what the Audit Commission thinks of our performance overall.
The BVPP shows which services we have provided well and where we need to improve in future. It also compares our performance with neighbouring authorities, and with other councils designated as Excellent by the Audit Commission.
