Park and Ride: Using the payment system
The Park and Ride sites in Canterbury have a 'Pay on Foot' system. The following notes explain what this means to our customers:
On arrival
Drive up to the entrance barrier and follow the instructions on the screen. A ticket will be dispensed to you. Take the ticket and the barrier will rise to let you in.
Find a parking space and head for the bus. You'll travel to the city centre in one of our modern Park and Ride buses - including three double deckers - in their distinctive green and silver livery.

On the bus
Just show the driver your ticket then sit back and relax as the bus makes its way into the city centre. You'll need to show the driver your ticket on the return journey as well so keep it safe.
How to pay
The ticket you collected on your way into the car park has to be 'validated' before it will be accepted at the car park exit so that you can leave the car park.
'Validated' means that you've paid the Park and Ride fare.
Put your ticket into one of the Pay Stations - located inside and outside the terminal building at the car park. You will then be asked to pay the fee. Don't worry if you haven't got the exact fare - the machines will give change and a receipt if you wish. The pay station inside the terminus buildings also accept notes
Your ticket will then be validated and returned to you.
Leaving the car park
If you haven't paid yet you must go back and validate your ticket- see step 3 above.
Drive up to the exit barrier and insert your ticket into the slot. As long as you've paid, the barrier will lift and you can leave the car park. Please note that the barrier machines only take tickets - they do not take cash.
