Waste collections: how the service works
Recyclables in clear sacks will be collected every two weeks (this happens already).
- More clear sacks will be issued to each household (3 times per year).
- A further 3 rolls can be obtained by completing and online administration form, Additional rolls will be delivered with other sack deliveries.
- Garden waste will be collected every two weeks from your green-lidded wheelie bin (this happens already).
- Landfill waste (any non-recyclable materials) will be collected every two weeks (on the week clear sacks and garden waste isn't collected).
- The council will not collect black sacks placed next to the bin.
- Some Households on the approved sack list may receive a weekly collection (this is subject to an inspection from the recycling team).
- All collections will take place on the same day of the week (this happens already, except for a small number of properties).
- All households are required to purchase a bin(s) in which to contain their waste.
- For additional landfill waste purple sacks can be bought.
- There may be a few days delay collecting waste over christmas and the new year, especially if your collection falls on a christmas bank holiday day. (check your collection calendar for details)
- Garden waste will be collected all year round, with the exception of four weeks over the christmas period.
