Buying your council home (Right to Buy)
Right to Buy allows most council tenants to buy their council home at a discount.
Once you've submitted an application to buy your home, we'll only carry out repairs that we have a legal duty to do, such as gas or water problems.
No further improvements will be made to your home while your application is ongoing. For example, if you are due a new boiler or kitchen, your home will be removed from the planned maintenance programme.
If you are removed, you may not be added again if your application to buy is not successful or you decide not to go ahead.
