Grants during national lockdown 5 January 2021 to 31 March 2021
The government has announced a range of grants for businesses that have been forced to close during the national lockdown that started Tuesday 5 January 2021.
These grants are based on the rateable value of the business:
5 January 2021 to 15 February 2021
- £2,001 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or less
- £3,000 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000
- £4,500 for businesses with a rateable value over £51,000
16 February 2021 to 31 March 2021
- £2,096 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or less
- £3,143 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000
- £4,714 for businesses with a rateable value over £51,000
There will also be a discretionary scheme available to help businesses that aren't covered by this scheme, but have been significantly affected by the lockdown restrictions.
Top-up grants
In addition to the above grants, businesses that have been forced to close during lockdown will receive a one-off top-up grant, based on the rateable value of the business:
- £4,000 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under
- £6,000 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000
- £9,000 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000
You don't need to apply for this grant separately. It will be paid the same time as the national lockdown (5 January 2021 to 31 March) grant.
