Community Right to Challenge and Bid
Community Right to Bid
The Community Right to Bid allows communities and parish councils to nominate buildings or land for listing by us as an 'asset of community value'. This can include:
- local shops
- community centres
- swimming pools
If an asset is listed as being of community value and it comes up for sale, it can then be put on hold for up to six months for the community to find the funding required to buy it before it goes on the open market.
We'll confirm we've received your nomination and it will be assessed against government criteria by a panel of council officers. A decision will be made within eight weeks.
