Grants for community organisations

Our RISE grants programme

Our RISE (Resilient, Informed, Sustainable, and Engaged) grants programme is designed to support not-for-profit organisations in making positive improvements to our local communities.

Before making an application you should read our commissioning and support policy documents, which explain our aims and how the RISE programme will be used to meet those aims.

Strategic grant

The strategic grant fund is aimed at organisations that are already achieving good outcomes for the local community, and want to take their work to the next level.

This includes:

  • projects that have outcomes that are aligned with our strategic grant priorities
  • core funding for organisations whose strategic aims closely align with our strategic grant priorities

The maximum award is £30,000.

Applications for 2021/2022 are now closed.

Wellbeing support grant

This grant has been developed to help address the growing pressure on mental health services within the district due to COVID-19.

It aims to support organisations that are already delivering mental health services and support to Canterbury district residents. The maximum award for this fund is £3,000.

Applications are now closed.

We'll let you know the outcome of your application by Friday 12 March 2021. If you're successful, you'll receive the funding by mid-April.

Innovation and improvement grants suspended

The UK is facing unprecedented measures to manage the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19). In light of these extenuating circumstances, we have suspended our usual grants programme in order to divert funds to support our local community with managing the impact of COVID-19.

The schemes affected will be:

  •  Innovation grants
  •  Improvement grants (new applications)

Strategic grants due to start from April 2020 are not affected by this decision.

We appreciate that for many organisations this is disappointing news, and we apologise to organisations that have already submitted applications or have begun working on them, however in the circumstances we have no choice.
