At present, we manage 650 beach hut sites comprising of 391 at Tankerton (including Marine Crescent and Long Rock) and 261 at West Beach, Herne Bay.
The huts themselves are privately owned and are bought and sold on the open market but the sites are subject to an annual lease payable to the council. The documents relating to these are listed below.

Canterbury City Council have no huts available for sale but if you are interested in a beach hut at any of the potential new sites, please complete an expression of interest form.

Whitstable Harbour huts
There are two beach hut associations representing owners' interests at committee meetings and in the ongoing management of the area;
Huts are also available on private land that are managed by companies such as Seasalter Shellfish and the Whitstable Oyster Fishery Company, which are situated at Long Beach, Whitstable and extend West towards Seasalter.
