Rubbish and recycling

Canterbury City Council collects landfill waste in grey-lidded wheelie bins or purple refuse sacks from every household in the district on alternate weeks. To find out when your waste is due to be collected, look at your collection date calendar.

In order to reduce the amount of waste going to the Canterbury landfill site, the following collection  schemes are available: Clear Sack Recycling, Garden Waste Recycling, 'Bring' Bank recycling and Household Waste Recycling Centres (The Tip!)

The following Information is also available to help you manage your waste

We have prepared a recycling guide 2007/2008 booklet which you can download as a PDF or you can request a printed copy. Why not check out our amazing facts about recycling to spur you on?
