Appeal a food hygiene rating

If you've had a food hygiene rating and are not happy with the result, there are a number of things you can do.

Appeal your rating

If you think our decision is wrong you can submit an appeal. You must do this within 21 days (including weekends and Bank Holidays) of getting the rating letter.

Submit a right to reply

A right to reply form is available to download and complete: 

The form lets you tell customers about any circumstances at the time of inspection that might have affected your rating.

You can also tell them about any actions you have taken to improve it.

Ask for a rescore

If you've made improvements we recommended you can request a rescore of your business before your next planned inspection.

This will cost £193.60 and will be done within four weeks of your request.
