Household Support Fund
The Household Support Fund is a scheme funded by the government to help low income households.
Household support fund referrals are closed at the moment.
How we can help
We can provide:
- Floor coverings (for social housing tenants only),
- Second-hand furniture,
- Children's beds, and
- White goods
Who we can help
You must:
- Live in the Canterbury district permanently and be 16 or over.
- Have a total household income of £40,000 or less - this includes any money from employment or benefits.
- Have no more than £1,000 in savings and not have access to any other money or financial support*.
*If somebody in the household is state pension age or above, we will still consider an application if their combined savings are more than £1,000.
If everyone in the household is under state pension age and there is more than £1,000 in combined savings, we will still consider an application for flooring.
How to access the fund
If you meet the criteria, you will need a referral from a professional organisation such as a food bank, housing association, school, social prescriber and so on.
