What is sheltered housing plus?

Sheltered housing plus replaced enhanced sheltered housing in 2017. We offer sheltered housing plus accommodation (one bedroom flats and studios for people over 60) in:

• Lang Court, Whitstable
• Cranmer House, Canterbury
• Collard House, Canterbury
• Whitgift Court, Canterbury

We provide:

• an on-site independent living manager
• access to handyman and repair services
• access to a supported laundry service (Monday to Friday only)
• a 24 hour lifeline connection
• emergency on-call night staff
• support with life and social skills, if needed
• help with budgeting and applying for benefits
• signposting to taking up activities, training, work or engaging with the community
• advice about accessing health care and social care
• You can apply if you're over 60 years, and have certain support needs. You can be single or in a couple to apply.

What happens after you apply for sheltered housing plus

An assessment will be carried out once you've applied, which gives you the chance to talk about the support needs that you have. It also helps us to confirm that you meet the sheltered housing plus criteria.
