Find out when you can and cannot take dogs on beaches in the district.
Much of our coast (98%) is dog friendly and dogs are welcome all year round. When you take your dog on the beach they must be supervised at all times, and you must clear up any dog mess immediately; you can put bags in any of the dog bins provided.
Dogs are not allowed on the following beaches between 1 May and 30 September:
From Herne Bay pier heading west to Lane End, dogs are not allowed on the beach and must be kept on a lead on the promenade.
Level with Pier Avenue West to The Street, dogs are not allowed on the beach and must be kept on a lead on the promenade.
