We have two weatherproof cycle shelters where you can park for free. Each shelter has space for 12 bikes and has night time LED lighting.

Canterbury bus station has seven bike hubs for short term use. This means you can rent one from anywhere between 15 minutes and two weeks. Bike hubs can store one or two adult bikes plus cycling gear.

How much it costs to rent a hub

It costs 40p an hour for up to eight hours, plus a one-off 20p charge for the first hour of rental. 

After eight hours it switches to the daily rate of £2.80 for up to 24 hours, plus a one-off 20p charge.

What you need to do to rent a hub

Visit bikehubs.co.uk to download the app and register for an account. Use the app to find a hub, book and pay for it. You then need to request a code via the app at the start of your booking to activate the smart lock on the hub.

Orange Street car park has six vertical lockers for long term use. You can rent these if you commute or you want to store your bike long term.

Station Road West car park has two bike hangars for long term use. You can rent these if you commute or you want to store your bike long term.

Watling Street car park, Canterbury

We have a cycle shelter in Watling Street car park fitted with lockers that you can use for free to store your bike. The shelter has space for 16 bikes, but none are free at the moment.

The lockers are to encourage more trips by bike in and around the city instead of by car, helping to reduce traffic congestion.

They are free to use but you need to pay a refundable deposit of £25 for the key. This is to cover the cost of fitting a new lock in case you do not return the key to us. The money will be taken before we give the key to you.

Once the deposit has been paid the key will be sent to the address you gave us and you'll be able to access your locker.
