If you own, or want to buy, an electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid you can suggest a location for a charging point on a residential street.
When you submit a location we'll think about the following points before we make a decision:
- if there's good enough access to the electricity grid to avoid very expensive connections
- if there are parking bays on the same side of the road to avoid very expensive road crossings
- if the footway is wide enough for a charger and feeder pillar and there's still room for a wheelchair or pram to pass
- if the road is wide enough for vehicles to access and leave
- if there are other charge points nearby - use Zap Map to see current charging points
- if there are other houses with no off-street parking where residents would make use of the charger
