Ask for a change to a parking restriction

Request a change to a parking restriction in the district using our online form.

You can request a change to a parking restriction in the Canterbury district using our online form. It's easy and takes five minutes.

Because of the time and cost involved to process changes to Traffic Regulation Orders, including consulting residents and councillors, we normally consider changes to parking restrictions in an annual review. We take into account all requests sent to us during the year and proposals that are approved are taken to public consultation early in the following year.

Before we can add any changes to the annual review, the proposal needs a reasonable level of support. This means you need to give details of neighbours or other local residents who are in favour of the suggested change.

We recommend that you also speak to your ward councillors to see whether they would be prepared to support the request.

Once we have that evidence we can consider adding the proposal to the next annual review.
